An exciting new group exhibition at The Stoneleigh Arms
I am delighted that my mixed media abstract Red Helleborine has been selected for an exciting new exhibition at The Stoneleigh Arms Arts Hub in Leamington Spa.
Part of my 2023 Biodiversity Collection, Red Helleborine explores Biodiversity loss and humanitys’ impact on the ecosystems and species of our planet. This perfectly aligns with the exhibition theme of "Natural Order" and I am looking forward to seeing other artists' perspective on this thought provoking and wide ranging topic.

Natural Order: About The Exhibition
Natural Order invites artists to explore systems, patterns, and rhythms that shape the world around us; from ecological cycles and geological processes to instinct, balance, and growth. This exhibition considers how order emerges through nature, whether structured or chaotic, fragile or resilient.
The artwork selected responds to ideas of pattern, repetition, balance, interdependence, and adaptation. This might include observations of natural systems, material-led processes, organic forms, or work that reflects humanity’s relationship with the environment. The exhibition explores where natural order holds, where it breaks down, and how it continually reshapes itself.
Natural Order may be construed as cycles, symmetry, entropy, sustainability, growth, decay, harmony, or disruption; the quiet intelligence of natural systems; or the ways in which materials, process, and time contribute to meaning.
Red Helleborine: The Artwork x The Exhibition Theme
Red Helleborine is part of the Biodiversity Collection (2023) comprising a trio of mixed media abstracts which layer botanical forms, endangered species, and text to highlight the fragility of the natural systems underpinning biodiversity on our planet.
Red Helleborine is amongst the most threatened wildflowers in the UK and species such as the hedgehog and turtledove that are in sharp decline as a result of modern living and agriculture are woven through the collage and composition.
This collection is my artistic response to the Biodiversity crisis that faces our planet. The work highlights the impact of humanity on the Natural Order of our planet, raising awareness and sparking discussion of one of the most critical environmental challenges of our time.
About The Artist
Louise Brook is a multidisciplinary artist based on the Northamptonshire–Oxfordshire borders, creating abstract work driven by a deep curiosity and a love of learning. Her practice blends research, storytelling, and discovery to form accessible narratives around complex themes, inviting viewers into conversations sparked by intrigue and exploration.
With a background in Psychology from UCL (2000) and a successful corporate career before moving into the arts in 2019, Louise brings a thoughtful, analytical lens to her creative process. Since 2022, she has exhibited across major UK cities including London, Nottingham, and Banbury, and has received recognition through awards such as SAA Artist of the Year 2024 (Highly Commended), Women United Art Prize 2024 (Longlisted), and multiple VAA and VAO long-listings. In 2025, she completed the New Platform Art Professional Development Programme.
Louise's inspiration is rooted in a broad, natural curiosity—drawing from current affairs, academic research, and the natural world, which she is passionate about protecting. Recurring themes include psychology, the layered complexity of human experience, and the beauty and fragility of nature.
Louise’s process is a balance of intuition and intention. Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media, she builds rich layers and textural detail that encourage viewers to explore the narrative within each piece. Collage plays an integral role, offering glimpses into the ideas, research, and evolution behind the work, and reinforcing her commitment to creating art that informs, engages, and invites discovery.

THE STONELEIGH ARMS is a community arts space dedicated to making the arts more accessible. It's run by Lighthaus Arts; a not-for profit Community Interest Company. We offer artist studio space, creative workshops and exhibition opportunities in Leamington Spa.
