Pet Portraits

I have extensive experience in pet portraiture and these commissions remain one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I love working closely with clients to capture the character of their pet in gorgeous detail, creating a work of art which is an everlasting reminder of their precious pet.

I work in coloured pencil, using multiple layers, which gives incredible detail to the fur and features as well as a fabulous depth of colour. Using one (or more) reference photos, we will work together to capture the perfect pose as well as all of the detail and character which makes your fur baby so unique.

Or not... you may have the perfect picture of your pet for me to work from, a few photos you can't decide between or lots of photos that aren't quite right. I have extensive experience in working from all kinds of photos and can provide advice and guidance on what will (and will not) work. If necessary I can work from more than one image to get the best possible picture.

Agree specifics

Collaboration time!

One of the most rewarding parts of the process is working closely with you as the customer to design the perfect piece. Together we can agree the size, orientation, paper colour and surface to suit both the piece and your home decor.

We will also agree timescales... Note that commission slots are always limited and in demand. I anticipate a minimum eight (8) week turnaround.

Progress & Completion

The exciting bit!

As I work on your pet portrait I will send through (a minimum of three) high resolution scans of my work in progress. This will ensure that you are kept updated on progress and can provide feedback throughout. If you have any adjustments to make these can be incorporated (within reason) as I draw. Once the piece is complete a final scan will be provided and final tweaks can be made if necessary.
