Playing with Fire I
*** Currrently reserved for exhibition. Please get in contact to enquire about this piece, in the event that it is not sold at the exhibition in September ***
Playing with Fire I by Louise Brook (2024) is part of a dramatic trio of works inspired by the volcanic eruption in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula in May 2024.
The spectacular, vivid images beamed around the world demonstrated the startling yet beautiful ferocity of this natural geological event, capturing the artist’s imagination and compelling her artistic response to combine the power of nature with the power of art in this dramatic mixed media collection.
The composition and bold design of this original mixed media work is striking from a distance, while closer inspection reveals exciting nuances delivered through a rich textural surface full of hidden details and depth. Black is not just black, “magma” crackles ominously under the surface and layers of mixed media and collage throughout deliver visual surprises and glimpses into the creative journey.
This work is offered for sale in a bespoke, floating black frame which perfectly compliments the piece as well as being a dramatic yet neutral addition to your eye catching decor.
