Cotswold Pennycress

Cotswold Pennycress

“Cotswold Pennycress” is one of trio of works in the 2023 Biodiversity collection by Louise Brook.

Prompted by coverage of the COP15 summit in late 2022, Louise was compelled to research the extent and impact of biodiversity loss, particularly in the UK and this collection was created as the artist’s response to this environmental crisis.

10% of sale proceeds from the Biodiversity Collection (and associated products such as prints and coasters) will be donated to a wildlife/conservation charity. Discussions are currently ongoing, and the chosen charity will be announced via my website soon. www.louisebrookcreative.com.

Working with an exciting mix of acrylic & mixed media, this collection of bold, striking abstract works showcases wildflowers that are amongst the most threatened in the UK. Collage and other elements in the composition spotlight species (such as the hedgehog and turtledove) that are in sharp decline as a result of modern living and agriculture.  With beautiful layers and rich textural detail, these pieces provide a compelling visual experience whilst also raising awareness and sparking discussion of one of the most critical environmental challenges of our time.

Year: 2023

Medium: Acrylic & Mixed Media

Unframed Dimensions: 40 x 40 cm (unmounted & unframed)

Framed Dimensions: 58 x 58 cms

The Biodiversity collection is offered for sale mounted and beautifully framed. The chic, dark grey bespoke frame really enhances the beauty and detail of the piece whilst being understated enough not to detreact from the original artwork.

Should you wish to purchase the piece unframed, or discuss alternative framing options then please get in contact. I am always happy to help my collectors achieve the perfect look for their home or gallery.
