Thanks so much for stopping by my website. I'm excited to have the opportunity to share my art with you!
Whether you are interested in commissioning a pet portrait, browsing my originals or shopping my art merchandise on Etsy, I hope my website has it covered... If not just drop me a message, I'd love to hear from you.
But first, a bit more about me and my creative journey....
I'll be honest, this bit is really difficult to write.... but let me start by saying that being an artist is pretty new for me and it still feels a bit like a dream....
Only a few years ago, I honestly didn't even know I could draw. As a qualified accountant I had a very successful career in sales and finance but, there was a BUT. The time I was missing out on with my young daughter was becoming increasingly frustrating and I wasn't happy. I went through a few very difficult years personally, a real emotional rollercoaster, and I knew something had to change. I stumbled on my creative streak when I tried colouring for Mindfulness and I haven't looked back!
I started to draw animals for my daughter in graphite pencil and felt tips and it wasn't long before I discovered the depth and detail that can be achieved with coloured pencil and began to finesse my technique with pet portraits. I just love being able to capture the character and detail of much loved pets and I'm honoured to have a steady stream of pet portrait commissions, repeat customers and lovely testimonials.
Once I had realised (aged 40) that a second career in art was the direction I wanted to take, I left my job, moved out of London and beagn pursuing my dream. Getting local gallery representation has been a huge inspiration and motivation to create new and different original pieces, to experiment, push my artistic boundaries and try new things. I'm loving every minute of it!
I have been working hard on growing and developing my portfolio and off the back of this I now offer a wide range of greetings card designs as well as Art Merchandise (mugs, coasters, prints etc) which are available in my Etsy shop. I've been trying new mediums like watercolour and acrylic, trying new styles and exploring new directions such as abstract expressionism, collage and mixed media.
I'm excited that this is just the start of my creative journey and I'm delighted you have taken the time to stop by my website. All of my contact details are at the bottom of this page, or use the contact form to drop me a message or subscribe so I can stay in touch!
I live in Middleton Cheney, near Banbury in the UK with my daughter, dog, two cats and an escape artist hamster.
